Haryana Names Femina Miss Grand India 2021 Manika Sheokand Goodwill Ambassador for Water Conservation Campaign | Chandigarh News

CHANDIGARH: The government of Haryana has appointed Femina Miss Grand India-2021 Manika Sheokand as the goodwill “ambassador” for the water conservation campaign.
The Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, on Saturday delivered the letter of appointment and the agreement to Manika as part of a program organized in Haryana Niwas.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that raising awareness of water conservation is the need of the moment. “Water is one of the essential necessities of everyone’s life. Life is not possible without water. Just as time is considered precious, water is also very precious,” he said. added.
He congratulated Manika for running for this campaign and wished her good luck for the competitions to come.
Manika is from Uchana in Jind District and did her B.Tech in Chemical Engineering.
“I am the daughter of a farmer and I understand the importance of water conservation,” said Manika.
She said she was very impressed with the Haryana government’s water conservation programs. She said that CM’s vision of seeing water as a heritage impressed her immensely.
She therefore offered to work as an ambassador to support the cause. She said it is a matter of pride for her to be named the Haryana government’s “goodwill ambassador” for the water conservation campaign.
“I have always been in favor of protecting the environment. I express my gratitude to the Chief Minister for appointing me as a “goodwill ambassador” for the water conservation campaign, ”Manika said.
Manika’s parents were also present at the event.
