Ygrene expands its management team with a new legal advisor

PETALUMA, Calif .– (COMMERCIAL THREAD) – Ygrene, a leading provider of property improvement finance in the country, today announced the appointment of John Apostle as General Counsel. In this role, the apostle will oversee all legal and compliance matters, providing strategic advice to the management team and the board of directors.

Apostle joins Ygrene after 30 years of work in the financial services, investments and insurance industry. Previously, he spent time in private practice in addition to working for SunTrust Bank, GE Capital and Genworth Financial, developing a holistic view of best business practices. Apostle is an expert in implementing meaningful compliance and data privacy programs that address compliance issues and risks, emerging regulatory requirements, and business initiatives and priorities.

In addition to his field work, Apostle has served on various committees of the Financial Services Roundtable and the American Council of Life Insurers, most notably as chair of the Annuity Adequacy Task Force. In his community, John is dedicated to Homeward, the homeless planning and coordination organization that seeks to prevent and end homelessness in central Virginia. He has served several terms on its board of directors and is president emeritus.

Apostle received his BA and JD from the University of Richmond in Virginia and completed the executive program at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
