The Pulaski County Board of Supervisors appointed Jeffrey G. Reeves to complete the remainder of Charles Bopp’s term after his retirement. Reeves will serve as the Robinson District Supervisor until a special election is held on November 8, 2022. The move came after the January 4 organizational meeting continued on January 11.
Eight candidates had applied for the seat, and the jury spent eight hours interviewing and reviewing each application. Reeve’s interview impressed the Board, with Chairman Walters saying, “Jeff brings to the Board a great deal of in-depth knowledge, a business owner’s perspective and a love of agriculture. and Pulaski County.”
Reeves is the son of two educators and is a farmer in the Robinson District. He brings to the board a wealth of experience in agriculture, animal science and a master’s degree in agricultural economics from Virginia Tech.
He and his family have lived and farmed here in Pulaski County since 1990. On this farm, he and his wife Ann Reeves raised three children, Emma, Ella and Eli. Reeves is also one of two county members who serve on the Soil and Water Conservation Council.
In his candidacy, Reeves impressed the board with this quote: “If selected, I will work diligently to make informed decisions on all matters brought before the board and apply my knowledge gained during my previous experiences as a business owner, father and resident. to every problem.
Reeves will be sworn in Thursday, January 11 at 11 a.m. in the council chambers of the County Administration Building, located at 143 Third St NW, Pulaski Virginia
