Former Minister of the Interior and Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani was elected a member of the World Committee of the International Fellowship of Scouts and Guides (AISG).
Mr. Bani was elected at the 29th World Conference held on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 February.
Currently President of the National Fellowship of Ghana Scouts and Guides, he was also a senior official of the United Nations Development Programme.
The other members of the Committee are Anna Redrigues from Portugal, Mario Bertaglonio from Italy and Zalillah Mohd Taib, representing Malaysia.
The rest include Elin Richards from Iceland and Vanessa Hoogenbergen from the Dutch Caribbean island, Curacao.
The International Scouts and Guides Fellowship is a global voluntary organization of older Scouts and Guides, who work with young people and support community empowerment for development.
It is open to former members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), as well as adults who have not had the opportunity to be a Scout or guides and active scouts/guides. leaders but who believe in their ideals.
Established in 1953 and supported by WOSM and WAGGGS, ISGF has National Scout and Guide Fellowships in 66 countries with more to follow. In addition, it is also represented in 42 countries with members (individual or collective) of the Central Branch.
