PORTLAND, Oregon., March 23, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Local CBD Manufacturer The Apothecary Brothers shows a new way to “go green” for 4/20 this year by supporting Trees for the Future (TREES) and their plans to plant millions of trees for Earth Day. The brothers have worked with TREES in the past, planting almost 100,000 trees in total.
“The support of companies like The Brothers Apothecary is crucial to restoring and protecting the environment,” says the CEO of Trees for the Future. John Leary. “Thanks to the Brothers, we are reaching more farmers and planting more trees this year than ever before.”
TREES trains farmers in agroforestry, teaching them how to cultivate sustainable agricultural systems called forest gardens. The average one-acre forest garden is home to more than 4,000 trees and sequesters about 63 metric tons of carbon over 20 years. Forest gardens restore the soil and the natural biodiversity of the land while providing food and income opportunities for the farming family.
“We are extremely excited to partner with TREES to achieve our most ambitious goal yet,” says co-founder and younger brother, Jesse Richardson. “We want people to know that these efforts aren’t just about the day we celebrate Earth Day. The Forest Garden approach produces food, shade, and healthy soil year-round.”
The Apothecary Brothers are organizing this effort through a month-long campaign, beginning in March and continuing through Earth Day on April 22, 2022. The pledge-based campaign is powered through the company’s website, where subscribers can plant a tree for free with a single click, or through paid add-ons when ordering items like the flagship product of the company. CBD tea:
“We make it easy: people can help plant a tree just by visiting our website and adding their name to the effort,” says the older brother, Shane Richardson. “Plus, we’re promising 10 trees for every order placed during this time. You can even add trees directly to your cart.”
The Brothers Apothecary has a history of community building and sustainability efforts, and in the past has partnered with Portland area food banks, tribal non-profit organizations, and water and marine life conservation. They have also linked fundraising to product launches, as in the case of their Spiced Cacao, a Hot CBD Cocoa which ties 5% of its sales to social and environmental efforts in Peru.
“It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the state of our planet and the need for urgent action,” says Brandy Lellou, program director for Trees for the Future. “But the good news is that Trees for the Future has a solution to some of our most pressing challenges and we have brand partners like The Brothers Apothecary who are dedicated to making lasting change possible.”
