Time is running out to order pond fish

OAK HARBOR — The Ottawa Soil and Water Conservation District is taking fish orders through Friday. This is a convenient and inexpensive way to stockpile or add to a current population.

Fender’s Fish Hatchery will be bringing its tank truck, with aerator, from 1 to 3 p.m. on October 13 to the SWCD Ottawa office, 240 W. Lake St., Unit B, to distribute fish orders. Customers can order on ottawawcd.com. People ordering fish will be notified with a reminder of the pick-up time and date. Take a container filled with pond water. A trash can (with a plastic liner) serves as an ideal container. A 5-10 gallon box (clean) is sufficient for 100 fish.
